Alison Bjorkedal - Harpist

​

Alison Bjorkedal earned her Masters and  Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in harp performance from the USC Thornton School of Music where she studied on full tuition scholarship with JoAnn Turovsky. Currently, Alison is a freelance musician in the Los Angeles area and is acting principal of the Pasadena Pops Orchestra. Alison's performances include the world premiere of William Kraft's Encounters XII for harp and percussion, as soloist with the USC Chamber Orchestra and Traction Avenue Orchestra, and accompanying Andrea Bocelli in the PBS special David Foster and Andrea Bocelli's My Christmas. She performed has performed on recordings which include Southwest Chamber Music's Complete Chamber Music of Carlos Chávez, Volume 4 and William Kraft's Encounters, both Latin-Grammy nominated.​
